Announcing the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing Fellowships

The MaRS Centre for Impact Investing (CII) is looking for the next generation of impact leaders. This distinguished fellowship program provides individuals with exposure to the emergent impact investing market in Canada, and provides hands-on opportunities to work with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, social ventures, and other engaged players in a variety of strategic and operational roles.

The CII has both short-term (four to five months), and long-term (eight months to one-year) fellowship opportunities available to individuals who have achieved academic excellence and have displayed a commitment to, and passion for, social impact.

Through key initiatives like our Impact Finance Lab, B Corporation hub, the SVX, and our Social Impact Bond practice, the CII is catalyzing new sources of capital for public good. We are also growing and showcasing the rich talent pool interested in impact careers. Fellows will provide direct and strategic research, and project support to priority initiatives.

2013 Fellowship Opportunities

I.    Impact Finance Lab Fellow
The Impact Finance Lab Fellow will build out the CII’s new lab initiative hosting transformative impact initiatives and social finance infrastructure projects in Canada. (8-12 months). More details [PDF].

II.    SIB (Social Impact Bond) Fellow
The SIB Fellow will advance the development of social impact bonds in Canada (5-6 months). More details [PDF].

III.    B Corp Fellow
The B Corp Fellow will participate in developing the Canadian B Corp community through engagement activities. (8-12 months). More details [PDF].

IV.    Education Fellow
The Education Fellow will advance information, education, and communication initiatives with respect to impact investing in Canada (4 months). More details [PDF].

Location and Application

All fellowships will be based at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto.  Depending on the nature of the projects, travel within Canada may be required.

The application deadline for all fellowships is February 28th, 2013. Fellows will be paid a stipend for their contribution to the Centre.
