Carissa is currently completing her MBA at the University of British Columbia, where she is focusing on strategy and sustainability.

Carissa has global experience working at the intersection of business and international development. Most recently, she worked in impact investing in New York City with Acumen Fund. Prior to her MBA, Carissa was a Professional Fellow with Engineers Without Borders Canada. On her fellowship, she worked with the Ministry in Northern Ghana developing an agriculture entrepreneurship curriculum for college-level students. Carissa’s passion for international development began while working at Aeroplan Canada where she was chosen to travel to Zambia as part of the corporate social responsibility team.

Carissa grew up in the lively city of Montreal and graduated with a B.Sc from McGill University. Armed with a journal, lots of energy and a true passion for social change, she is always looking forward to the next conversation about how to use business intelligence and compassion to bridge the gap between the extremes in the world.
