Jana is a co-founder of Synergy Social Ventures, a Hong Kong based non profit organization focused on providing capacity building support and access to appropriate financial capital for early stage social ventures in South East Asia and China.  Synergy was created in response to the gap in support available to early stage ventures, which the organization’s founders saw as one of the primary reasons why entrepreneurs in the region were not able to achieve the successes of their peers in other regions of the world. At Synergy Jana is responsible for the organization’s entrepreneur support programs, which includes providing direct support to ventures in areas such as strategic planning, operations, fundraising, and impact measurement, and connecting them to a global network of partners and supporters.

Before choosing to focus on social finance, Jana was in the financial services industry in Canada in areas ranging from wealth management to small business banking. Her experience with Vancity Savings in Vancouver, a financial institution that is a leader and pioneer in social finance, inspired her to focus her career on this sector. Jana holds a BA in International Relations and an MBA from University of British Columbia.
