Verity Dimock is currently working with Robert Patterson (http://www.earthbox.mx) on the launch of a Canadian social enterprise focused on local, sustainable food. She grew up in an entrepreneurial family and her career spans both the for-profit and non-profit spaces.
In addition to her social enterprise work, Verity teaches career development workshops and is an employment coach for students in the HVAC and Sustainable Energy Programs at Humber College. She is also an active community volunteer and spent the summer 2012, with her husband and twin sons, helping to run Bikeworks at Evergreen Brickworks. Verity also tweets about her experience as a new social entrepreneur @SocentGirl.
Before shifting her career focus to social enterprise, Verity was the Executive Director of Smart Serve Ontario where she led a two year change initiative, including a complete rebuild of the organization’s business technology platform, the redesign of Smart Serve’s website and the revamping of Smart Serve’s online training and certification program. She holds a Master’s degree from Boise State University (Instructional and Performance Technology) and a Bachelor’s degree from Trent University (Politics and Economics).
