Brenda brings a background in community development, small business management and mediation to her position as President of Ecotrust Canada. For the past 5 years, Brenda was responsible for the build out of the Clayoquot program, and sat on Ecotrust’s senior management team.

Prior to joining Ecotrust in October 2002 as Director of Programs, Brenda worked for 5 years with the eleven Community Fisheries Development Centers on the coast to design alternative economic opportunities in regions affected by the restructuring of commercial salmon fishing. She also has more than 10 years of experience in international development, including 4 years of field experience in Southern Africa.

Brenda is committed to supporting strong local institutions, diversified economies and cultural revival. She believes that these are the elements that will help our society withstand the inevitable shockwaves of the 21st century.
