Kate Ruff joined Charity Intelligence Canada (Ci) in May 2008. Kate is a consultant to non profits, specializing in evaluating double bottom line organizations; she has served as a consultant to CECI in Nepal, Social Enterprise London in the UK, United Way of Greater Toronto.  The concept of a social investment exchange has been a passion of Kate’s since 2004.  It was the subject of her Master’s dissertation at LSE, Measuring Social Impact.  Kate’s current research focuses on the historical development of financial markets and the lessons for a social investment exchange, particularly the roles of intermediaries and the struggles to achieve standardization.  Prior to her nonprofit work Kate spent several years in the for-profit sector doing business planning, strategy and marketing for new ventures, including her own dot com.  Kate has a B.Com from McGill University and a MSc. from the London School of Economics.
