Kate Martin works for Credit Union Central of Canada as a policy analyst with a focus on government relations and co-operatives. As Canadian credit unions continue to deepen their ties to the communities that they serve, the team at Credit Union Central of Canada are exploring how social finance is practised within the credit union landscape.

Prior to working with Credit Union Central of Canada, Kate studied history at the University of Victoria where she had the opportunity to live and work with the Stó:lō Nation.  Witnessing the significance of community based institutions in this context led to a passion for community-based research and a natural fit with the credit unions as member-owned, community financial institutions.
