Norma-Jean is an alumna of UBC’s Sauder School of Business and a passionate advocate of social finance and entrepreneurship. As an event manager and sponsorship consultant, Norma-Jean currently works with a number of small business and non-profit ventures, including the Global Poverty Project, a mass media campaign that seeks to educate and serve as a catalyst to tackle extreme poverty.
She is an active member of UBC’s Future Alumni Advisory Council and was the founder of the Young Women in Business (YWiB) Network, a Vancouver-based non-profit that acts as the central forum to connect ambitious, young women from a variety of careers, industries, and backgrounds. Previously, she coordinated the individual giving program at the Arts Club Theatre Company, and was the Orientations Coordinator for Imagine UBC, North America’s largest one-day university orientation program. Norma-Jean eagerly tweets daily about world-changers and is an avid volunteer with such organizations as imagine1day, the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and the JDC West business student competition. She hopes to one day have an olive grove and winery in Italy.
