Remi currently works for the Social Innovation Research Group (SIRG), which analyzes the causes of social innovation’s success and failure in Taiwan (http://www.sirg-taiwan.org). She is also working on a map which tracks poverty-addressing social innovation across the Global South, the Pro-Poor Mapping Project (https://propoorinnovations.crowdmap.com). Remi will graduate from the University of Toronto in 2013.
While there, she co-founded Just Rights Radio on CIUT 89.5FM, a show on local social justice movements, and the INDePth Conference on Sustainable Development (http://indepthconference.com/). Both were started as a result of time spent abroad during her undergraduate degree - her interest in social justice was sparked while doing ethnographic field research on poverty and development in Indonesia. Right now, she is figuring out what to do after Taiwan, while learning and blogging more about social finance and social entrepreneurship.
