Ricardo is a member of the SiG at MaRS team where he is responsible for venture outreach initiatives and for conducting due diligence and guiding prospective ventures and funds seeking to raise capital through the SVX.
Before moving to Toronto in August 2009, he spent four years at London Consulting Group (LCG) a leading Latin American consulting firm that works as a boutique, specializing in performance improvement. During this time, he advised owners and top-executives of leading multinationals and private companies on turnarounds, post acquisition strategies, mergers, valuations and productivity challenges.
His exposure to working with clients in different countries with enormous economic, social, and environmental differences developed his strong interest in venture capital and private equity with a focus on economic and social prosperity. Ricardo has an M.B.A from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) in Mexico.
