President, University of Toronto Finance Club & Entrepreneurial Society Global Fellow, Student Microfinance and Development Initiative (Based
out of the London School of Economics)
Yves Guilaume, 19, is the founder of the University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurial Society, President of its Finance Club and has launched four leading student-led development initiatives including the Global Entrepreneurial Scholars Program, and Books Outbound.
Yves has been selected to represent Canada at various Global Summits such as the London School of Economics’s Asia Investment Banking Conference in 2010, the United Nations World Civic Forum in South Korea in 2009, and the G8/G20 Youth Summit in 2010 as Minister of Finance in the Host Canadian delegation.
In addition to these involvements, Yves has served on several leadership Boards such as Oxfam Canada’s Ontario Regional Steering Committee at age 18; the University of Toronto’s Tri-Campus Arts Council; as well as Editor-in-Chief of its Undergraduate Journal of Political Science.
He is currently is currently working on various research or development projects at the SVX| Social Venture Exchange c/o TMX Group, SiG@MaRS, Causeway/Ashoka, the SMDI’s Financial Advisory service and LuxFlag at The Luxembourg House of Finance. He has also published several Human Rights activism articles on Harvard
University’s World Poverty and Human Rights Online.
Yves was born in Yaounde, Cameroon, lived in Europe, matured in Canada and the US, and is about to complete his comprehensive tour of Asia Pacific. He lives in Burlington, ON and is just finishing up an Honors BA in Politics (International Relations) and Economics (International Finance) at St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto.
