Zerrin is a business analyst at SickKids Foundation’s Strategy team. She manages the delivery of the Foundation’s strategic projects and conducts analysis to support key strategic iniatives. Last year, Zerrin spent four months volunteering at a micro-finance institution in Ghana as a Kiva fellow. As part of her work, she interviewed 160+ micro-finance borrowers on the social impact of their loans. She was particularly interested in gaining field experience to learn about the benefits and limitations of microfinance. Prior to volunteering for Kiva, Zerrin worked as a management consultant focusing in the health sector. Her undergraduate degree was in business administration.

Zerrin’s interest in social finance stems from her desire to find business-driven solutions to improve access to health care for underprivileged populations. She believes that poverty and health issues are closely interrelated. Thus, she feels that solutions to health access issues need to address poverty alleviation and businesses can play a key role in designing these solutions.
