Dustyn Lanz

Director, Research & Communications, Responsible Investment Association (RIA)

Dustyn Lanz holds the position of Director, Research and Communications at the Responsible Investment Association (RIA). Dustyn is responsible for managing and executing the RIA’s research and communications strategies to realize the RIA’s mandate. The RIA’s mandate is to scale up responsible investment (RI) in Canada. RI refers to the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria in the selection and management of investments.

In addition, Dustyn is an author and political economist interested in the linkages between finance and greening the global economy. Dustyn’s work has been published by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, and the esteemed academic journal World Economics.

Prior to joining the RIA, Dustyn was a Balsillie Fellow with CIGI. Dustyn holds a master’s degree in global governance from the Balsillie School of International Affairs, University of Waterloo. In 2013, he wrote a short master’s thesis on investment, green growth, and public-private partnerships. Dustyn also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from York University, where he studied financial sector governance.
