In 2008, Yanique graduated from Queen's University with a B.A. Hons. in Political Science and Philosophy. Now is she a graduate of York University's Glendon College where she completed a bilingual Master's in Public and International Affairs in April 2013.
Yanique has experience working in government and the settlement sector. Currently she works within the office of the Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. She's also previously worked at OCASI (Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants) on both an organizational capacity development initiative and a immigrant and refugee violence against women awareness campaign.
During summer 2012, she interned for the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation as a policy advisor, working on initiatives geared towards social innovation and impact investing.
In Autumn 2012, as a component of her graduate degree, Yanique studied as an International Masters Exchange Student at Sciences Po in Paris France. She took various courses that enhanced her knowledge on trade liberalization, labour migration, new philanthropy and social investing.
Yanique enjoys being active with community initiatives as it provides an outlet for her to give back to the community and various organisations that have supported her along her journey.
