The Cupboard is Full: Public Funds for Essential Services

We are told by the powers that be that there’s not enough money for badly needed public services for the one to two billion people who lack access to water and sanitation, electricity and health care today. Yet there is ample evidence that large pools of public monies exist for investment in public infrastructure, with public pension funds (PPFs) and sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) being two examples. We call on these funds to make more socially responsible investments in the global South, in support of essential public services.
