Video: Sir Ronald Cohen on the Canadian Task Force on Social Finance

This week, celebrating 100 years of global innovation, the Rockafeller Foundation held its second annual Innovation and Awards Ceremony. One of four award recipients was Sir Ronald Cohen, who is widely regarded as the father of social investment. In this short video, Cohen addresses the Canadian Task Force on Social Finance, and discusses its recommendations. Happy Canada day!

Video: Launch of Big Society Capital

Big Society Capital is a new social investment wholesaler in the UK that will invest £600m in social investment finance intermediaries (SIFIs) – organisations that provide finance and support to social sector organisations.

Upon the launch roughly three weeks ago, a video explaining the intended role and rationale for Big Society Capital was released. It features commentary from leading figures (such as Ronald Cohen, Chair) involved with this groundbreaking initiative, as well as social entrepreneurs, that 'will be a champion for social investment'.
