Mission-related and Impact Investing for Canadian Foundations

Mission-related and impact investing is a growing trend referring to the practice of aligning foundation investment strategies with their mission. In this workshop, we’ll provide the context for the increasing interest in mission-related and impact investing, including the recent recommendation of the Canadian Task Force on Social Finance that foundations invest 10% of their assets in impact and mission-related investments by 2020.

We’re bringing a stellar line-up of Canadian and U.S. leaders in mission-related and impact investing right to your doorstep including:

  • Raúl Pomares, Springcreek Advisors LLC and co-author of Solutions for Impact Investors: From Strategy to Implementation
  • Bill Young, Bealight Foundation/Social Capital Partners
  • Terry Cooke Hamilton Community Foundation
  • Brian Toller, Ottawa Community Foundation
  • Derek Gent, Vancity Community Foundation
  • Martin Garber-Conrad, Edmonton Community Foundation
  • Julia Langer, Toronto Atmospheric Fund
  • Joel Solomon, Renewal Partners, Endswell Foundation, Tides Foundation
  • Betsy Martin, Community Foundations of Canada
