Video: Fixing the Future

Collapsing economies, unemployment, healthcare woes, unprecedented climate change, increasing inequality - it's hard to escape bad news nowadays. We all know that there are big, wicked problems that need fixing, and we come across them every day. Social innovation is a great way to address these problems.

This week's Video takes a wide-angle approach to social finance and puts it in context - as a social innovation, social finance does fit the definition of "an initiative...that profoundly changes beliefs, basic routines, resource and authority flows of any social system in the direction of greater resilience." Social finance has durability, impact and scale  - the only thing left to do now, really, is to support it. The Social Innovation Exchange recently shared this excellent short video produced by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation . It is both positive and forward-looking - what better way to fix the future? On behalf of SocialFinance.ca, have a great Canada Day weekend!
