Video: Interview of Arthur Wood, Total Impact Advisors

How do you define impact investing? Arthur Wood, Founding Partner at Total Impact Advisors, defines impact investing as the “injection of modern capital market tools and modern legal structures into the [social] space”. These injections help organizations in the social sector reach scale by improving collaboration and incentivizing sector actors to work together.

From microfinance as a model of commercial banking to pension funds in developing nations, used as guarantees for local social and economic development, mobilizing private capital for public good is very much about adapting private capital tools for public good.

Here is a recent interview of Arthur Wood, conducted by Nicolette de Joncaire for Agefi on January 16, 2013. A version of this interview, in French, was published yesterday on SocialFinance.ca.
