Want to Learn More about Social Banking and Social Finance?

Are you interested in learning about social banking and social finance? Look no further than the Institute for Social Banking (ISB). The ISB is opening up registration for its upcoming Summer School session entitled, “Money rules the world – who rules the money?” The session will take place from July 3 to 8, 2011 in Canterbury, U.K. There are 110 spots available.

The application and submission criteria can be found on the ISB website. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2011.

The ISB offers an interesting learning model. It creates an “incubator for change” approach, enlisting members from both the financial community and the social community to come together and create a shared understanding of social finance and social banking. It is very much a collaborative model.

They are also enlisting some new speakers at this year’s Summer School, including:

  • James Gifford, executive director, UN Principles for Responsible Investment
  • Kees Middendorp, Triodos Bank International Credits, Credit Risk manager, Triodos Bank
  • Sven Geigold, member of European Parliament, Greens/EFA spokesperson in ECON committee
  • Thomas Losse-Muller, financial sector specialist, Financial and Private Sector Development, The World Bank
