Andrew Macdonald is the General Manager at Eva’s Phoenix. Ten years ago Andrew was part of the team that transformed a 1930’s fire-truck repair garage into Eva’s Phoenix: ground-breaking in Canada for its integration of housing, employment, mentorship and social enterprise to create long-term solutions that break the cycle of homelessness for Toronto’s youth. While at Eva’s Phoenix Andrew established the Phoenix Print Shop, a 2009 Recommended Social Enterprise of Charity Intelligence. Andrew is a 2008 recipient of the Toronto Community Foundation’s ‘Vital People’ Awards. Community involvements have included serving on the Advisory Board for George Brown College’s Institute of Entrepreneurship and Community Innovation (IECI), and mentoring with the United Way’s Creative Institute for Toronto Young Leaders (CITY).
