Workshop on Mission-Related and Impact Investing

PFC conferenceThere is a terrific workshop on mission and impact investing happening on Sunday, Oct. 2, between 1:00– 4:00 p.m. at the Toronto Downtown Marriott Eaton Centre.  It is part of the Philanthropic Foundations of Canada (PFC) national conference and the workshop is open to anyone interested in MRI, impact investing and social finance.

Job Opportunity: Program Coordinator, ACCESS Community Capital Fund

ACCESS Community Capital Fund is hiring a full-time Program Coordinator to join our small team working to build and expand an organization that is becoming a key player in promoting micro-lending and economic development in Toronto communities. The position will aim to provide support to loan applicants and recipients as well as assisting the various Loan Review Committees in their evaluation cycles and lending activities. The individual will also be responsible for managing ACCESS’ outreach initiatives and oversee the client intake process.

Social Innovation Generation (SiG) @ MaRS is hiring a manager to drive forward B corporation business development and impact metrics activities. Based out of the prestigious MaRS centre in Toronto, the Manager for B Corporations and Impact Measurement will support the development of the B Corporation community in Ontario, coordinate a Social Impact Metrics Advisory Group at MaRS, provide thought leadership and training on social impact measurement, and act as an in-house resource to support the work of the social innovation practice at MaRS. This role requires experience and ability in business and partnership development, interest in working with ventures with a double or triple bottom line focus, and relevant experience in metrics and measurement, especially in the social venture sector.

STEPS Consulting, a social enterprise, and its nonprofit partner organization the Sustainable Thinking and Expression on Public Space (STEPS) Initiative were founded in 2009 by Alexis Kane Speer. Building on the work of the Initiative to date, STEPS Consulting provides clients with unique services that draw on the knowledge and experience of our network of urban planners, artists, architects, educators, designers and community mobilizers. We provide clients with creative community–based research, engagement and placemaking services, while supporting the nonprofit activities of the STEPS Initiative.
